For Over 14
Years
At Colorado Dream Homes, we believe that
the natural beauty of Pagosa Springs should by lived with, not
just built on top of. That is why we believe in green building.
As a green builder in Pagosa Springs, we take numerous steps to build your home so that it
meets every requirement of your personal preferences, while still coexisting with the surrounding area and
providing a healthier environment for you. Green building
refers to environmentally friendly building with an emphasis
on the use of natural and non-toxic building materials. Green
building saves energy while minimizing negative impacts on
your health that can occur with non-green building practices.
- We use high efficiency furnaces, water-heaters, and ceiling
fans to cut down on the amount of natural resources used.
Our energy efficient homes rarely require air conditioning.
All these features save you money and helping to curb the
waste in the supply of resources available to us.
-
Our 12" Thick R-38 Super Insulated Energy Building
System, double-paned windows and insulated doors also contribute
to our green building! By keeping the heat or air conditioning
inside of your home, you will reduce ozone depleting CO2
emissions by half.
- All of our standard outdoor decking and landscaping products
are made from low impact polymers and composite recycled
products. Increasing the lifespan of your decking and reducing
the amount of chemicals that are associated with using treated
products.
- We use engineered lumber, which provides a straighter,
sturdier frame for your house. Engineered lumber is also
made using only fast-growing and rapidly renewable tree
species.
- We make sure all ductwork is tight and only install sealed-combustion
furnaces and power vented water heaters. This ensures that
leaky ducts will not draw combustion gasses from the furnace
or water heater into your living area, which could create
a possibly dangerous situation.
- Our optional central vacuum systems are incredibly convenient
and effective. They also draw pollutants away from your
home and into a safe area away from your living space.
